Can I use my credit/debit card for all fares?
Yes, drivers accept credit/debit cards for all fares; there is no minimum fare to use your credit/debit card.
Is there a charge to use the service?
Yes, there is a service charge of 10% or €2 minimum.
Which credit/debit cards are accepted?
Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro.
Debit cards: Laser.
Do I have to sign the driver’s invoice?
Yes, the driver will fill out a taxi invoice and you will sign after the amount has been confirmed by text.
What happens if my credit/debit card does not work?
If the credit/debit card payment does not process, passengers can pay in cash or use another card.
Is a driver allowed to refuse a credit/debit card payment ?
No. Drivers are required to accept (MasterCard, MeastroCard, VISA and Laser Card) for all fares. The driver must accept credit/debit cards for any fare amount. Any problems please note the taxi roof sign number and call 01 872 72 72 or text with deteils to 085 8 20 20 20.
What if the the system is not working?
In the unlikely event that the system is is not working you may pay with cash and you should note the taxi roof sign number and call 01 872 72 72 or text 085 8 20 20 20 with details.
I am concerned about security, who will process the credit/debit card?
The system is secure. Global Taxis work with an approved service provider which gives security to the transaction.
How will I get my taxi receipt?
The driver will hand you a second copy of the receipt if you require one.
How will I get my Credit Card receipt ?
If the you require an additional printed Credit Card receipt, you can get one by calling Global Taxis on 01 872 72 72.
What should I do if I want to pay by credit card, but the driver informs me he/she has the job registered as “Cash"?
No Problem, just inform the driver that you wish to pay by credit card. He/she will be able to reset the job to a Credit Card payment.
